We’re excited to share our Michaelmas Term 2022 programme! We’re starting the new academic year with both in-person and virtual fairs, plus weekly employer skills sessions. Read on for some of the highlights for this term and the benefits of these events.

You can make the most of the Careers Service this term by:

  1. Completing your Handshake Profile and Career Interests with as much detail as you can. This will enable our careers advisers to send you tailored updates and event notifications.
  2. Exploring the Career Centre to access our resources and appointments.
  3. Below is a flavour of what we’ve got coming up. Find our full range of fairs, sessions and panels via the Events section. Check in regularly as new events are added all the time!

Once you’ve registered to a fair, you can sign up to 1:to:1s directly with employers and group sessions for developing insights into different company cultures, working practices and career paths.

We’re changing how we send our newsletters!

Starting this term we’re giving you more control over what you receive from us in your email inbox. As a Cambridge student you’ll still receive termly emails telling you what’s coming up from the Careers Service, but the rest will depend on where you’re at in your careers thinking. If you’re not registered to Handshake, you’ll receive a careers round-up based on your Faculty midway through term. If you are registered on Handshake, you’ll either receive an overall roundup of career highlights or round ups based on the sectors you’ve put you’re interested in on your profile. This is to keep you in on the loop of what’s happening in careers that might interest you.

If you’d like to receive more frequent newsletters, with in depth information and advice on applications, opportunities, vacancies, and more, you can register for one of our many sector and EDI newsletters here on our website. You’ll need to be registered for Handshake to receive these.

Don’t miss our careers fairs this term – they only take place once each academic year and are the only official University events of their kind. There are both virtual and in-person fairs, and you can discover more and register via Handshake. Unsure whether to attend a virtual or in-person fair? There are benefits to doing both! You can read more on our blog here.

Registration for each fair opens a week in advance at 9am.
