Jenny Blakesley, Director of University of Cambridge Careers Service, shares an update ahead of the launch of Handshake Cambridge
Many of you will have heard about our upcoming transition to Handshake – an innovative career development platform that will become the primary tool for utilising the Careers Service, and planning and launching your career.
From 1 June, Handshake will replace our current systems, including Vacancies & Opportunities, Cambridge’s jobs board, and CamCareers, our targeted information messaging, and offer students many great new features, including:
Ease of access – by web or by mobile, book appointments, browse job postings, explore and register for events and workshops, access resources, check the status of applications, and more
Tailored recommendations – receive information based on your subject and interests from Handshake and learn about opportunities from Cambridge’s careers experts
Interact with an online community – create a profile, network and discover new opportunities, learn more about industries and job roles to see if they are right for you; get an inside look at employers with student reviews; message other students with your questions
On 1 June, students, postdocs and recent alumni of Cambridge will receive an invitation from Handshake. We strongly encourage you follow the link in the email and set up your profile, to become part of the beginning of this exciting new community.
In the meantime, if you’re keen to get started, you can set up your profile ahead of the launch of Handshake Cambridge, here.
We look forward to welcoming you to the platform.
