Getting Started with Fellowships

Getting Started With FellowhipsWhat are fellowships, and who are they for?

Fellowships provide funding to enable you to develop or sustain your own programme of research. There are many different types of fellowships from small funding pots to support the initiation of a small project through to considerable grants aimed at enabling early career researchers to make the transition to independence and set up a more comprehensive research programme, including the ability to employ a research team. There’s a huge range of fellowships funded by government research councils, international bodies, charities and learned societies.

Ultimately, fellowships are open to all researchers. Your career stage, research goals and discipline will shape how you determine whether, and which fellowships are right for you.
