You can make the most of the Careers Service this term by:

  1. Completing your Handshake Profile and Career Interests with as much detail as you can. This will enable our careers advisers to send you tailored updates and event notifications.
  2. Exploring the Career Centre to access our resources and appointments.
  3. Below is a flavour of what we’ve got coming up. Find our full range of fairs, sessions and panels via the Events section. Check in regularly as new events are added all the time!

Once you’ve registered to a fair, you can sign up to 1:to:1s directly with employers and group sessions for developing insights into different company cultures, working practices and career paths.

Don’t miss our careers fairs this term – they only take place once each academic year and are the only official University events of their kind. They are all being run virtually, and you can discover more and register via Handshake.

Why attend a virtual fair?

Virtual fairs grant you an opportunity to learn about and connect with employers from wherever is convenient to you. They offer a flexible and safe approach to career planning and networking, meaning you don’t have to sacrifice your studies or personal time. It’s also more convenient for employers, meaning we can host a greater variety of fairs and sectors throughout the academic year.

Future Fairs & Events: Arts and Heritage, Public Sector, and more!

We’ll be bringing you even more events later this term, including the Arts and Heritage panel, briefings on public policy, charities, and the Civil Service fast stream, and sessions focused on increasing your careers skillset, like CV briefings. Many of these smaller events are recorded, so keep an eye out on our YouTube channel in case you miss any.

Next term we’ll have even more fairs and events covering an even wider range of sectors, such as creative careers and not-for-profits. Our social media channels, such as our Facebook and Twitter, are frequently updated with opportunities and events too. You can also check out our online resources on various careers and book in for a consultation at any time.
